The Home Safety

Improvement

Assistance Program

Healthy Homes For Children Program

CHFS is restoring hope to the less -fortunat and the sick. We provide home remediation  and environmental improvement for the vulnerable populations. Our project goals are to reduce indoor pollutants that can cause respiratory illness such as Dust-mite, cigarette smoke, rodents, moisture and mold, asthma and allergies and toxic exposures including carbon monoxide prevention. Also, our program helps to address

Home Rehabilitation

including minor repairs and safety modifications such as grab bars, shower seats, raised toilets, smoke and/or carbon monoxide detectors and transition ramps. Critical repairs can include accessibility modifications  (such as ergonomics repairs, wheelchair and medical device accessibility and energy-efficient upgrades ()some solar energy improvement may be considered for homeowners in need, urgent roof repairs, heating and air conditioners that are not working and mold issues. As a result, this effort  will helps to eliminate  hospitalization,  doctor’s office visits and reduce numbers of days absent from school or work due to illness.

At CHFS, we try our best to assist as many people as we can. However, funds and resources are limited. Because many of our programs are purely donor-funded and funds are utilized to address our clients situations on a case-by-case basis.
